How the evening goes

  1. Invite
InvitePick language, world and length, name the players. Everyone gets a link and tells us who they are, optionally with a photo. After three days at the latest your mystery and its trailer are ready.
  2. Connect the phones
Connect the phonesThe host shows each person their own QR code. Scan, you're in. Nobody sees anyone else's cards.
  3. Investigate
InvestigateEvery round opens with a played scene with a picture and a narrator. Then you read your secret card on your phone and see three leads. Phones away: for 15 to 20 minutes you question each other. Then you vote on a lead and anonymously tap who did it. From round 2 the opening shows what the chosen lead found.
  4. Accuse
AccuseAt the end everyone accuses. Solution, points and leaderboard, rate the story. The host plays too and does not know the solution.

What makes it different

Everyone has a secret

Each person gets one they would rather keep, and a reason they look suspicious tonight. Confess and you are cleared. Keep quiet and you score.

Play, don't read

Three minutes on the phone, then 15 to 20 minutes of talking, asking, confronting. Then you decide where the investigation goes.

Written for you

Your places, rituals and quirks live inside the motives, secrets and clues. From your photos the AI draws your characters.

Fair to the end

Every revelation comes with a picture. The solution follows from clues that were on the table. Not even the host knows it.

What you are looking for, and what Killer Evening offers

Host a murder mystery dinner at home

Want to run a murder mystery party at home, with no game master and no kit of ready-made roles? With Killer Evening you don't write roles or print anything. You pick language, world and length, everyone gets a link, and on the night it all runs on the phones. Cook, order in or lay the table however you like.

A murder mystery game with nothing to print

A classic murder mystery kit has fixed characters and one solution for everybody. Here the story is made fresh, with your names, quirks and secrets. There is nothing to print, cut out or read aloud. One phone per person is enough.

Murder mystery for companies, team events and Christmas dinners

As a team event or company party, a murder mystery gets people talking who rarely sit at the same table. The story takes up roles, places and in-jokes from your team. It suits a Christmas dinner, a team evening or an outing, for 3 to 12 people.

Murder mystery for a birthday

For an adult birthday the game fills the part of the evening between the aperitif and dessert. The birthday person can play too, because even the host does not know the solution. If you like to dress up, use the costume ideas that come with the story.

Detective game for a child's birthday

For children and families there is the child mode: nothing violent, and instead of a murder something goes missing and the kids find out who took it. A detective game for a children's birthday or a family evening, played on the phones and in conversation.

Murder mystery party for 3 to 12 people

Call it a murder mystery party, a mystery game or a whodunit: everyone gets a role and a secret, and one person lies. It plays best with 4 to 8 people, and up to 12 works too. The number of rounds adapts to the size of your group.

How long does it take, and what do you need?

You choose between about 1½ hours and 2½ to 3 hours. You need one phone per person and a table where you can talk to each other. Nothing more. The story is available in German, English, French and Italian.

Questions

How many people?

Best with 4 to 8, up to 12. You pick the length, about 1½ hours or 2½ to 3 hours; we fit the number of rounds to your group so everyone gets enough to play. No outside game master needed, the host plays too.

Does anyone have to wait?

No. The story is written as soon as everyone has filled in their profile, after three days at the latest. On game night everything is ready: roles, pictures, trailer, costume ideas.

What happens to the data?

Names, quirks and photos are used for this one story only and deleted after 90 days. The AI draws the characters from the photos. Don't enter anything sensitive.

What does it cost?

The first 100 groups play free. After that you pay once when your story is written: CHF 14.95 for about 1½ hours, CHF 19.95 for 2½ to 3 hours. You see the trailer and the roles before.

What do we need for the evening?

One phone per person and a group that likes to talk. You don't have to print or prepare anything. Costume ideas and the trailer for the group chat come with the story.

Is there a murder mystery for kids?

Yes, the child mode. Nothing in it is violent, and there is a theft instead of a murder. It suits children's birthdays and families.

How do I fill in the roles?

As host you can enter everything yourself or send each person a link so they tell us who they are. Photos are optional and become portraits of your characters.
